Louise is interested in multidisciplinary challenges involving Biotechnology and Synthetic Biology. She is the recipient of the University of Edinburgh’s 2015 Chancellor’s Rising Star Award, the elected co-chair of the Bioengineering and Bioprocessing Section of the European Federation of Biotechnology and a member of the EPSRC’s Early Career Forum in Manufacturing Research.

 



The Horsfall Lab is interested in multidisciplinary challenges involving Biotechnology and Synthetic Biology. They are especially interested in how these areas might make manufacturing more resource efficient and help move us towards a more sustainable, circular economy. They are affiliated to the Institute of Quantitative Biology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology, the Centre for Synthetic and Systems Biology – SynthSys, and the Centre for Science at Extreme Conditions -CSEC, at the University of Edinburgh.
