Dr Mohamed Jebahi

Associate Professor at Arts et Metiers Institute of Technology

Mohamed Jebahi is Associate Professor at Arts et Metiers Institute of Technology (France) and member of the Laboratory of Microstructure studies and Mechanics of Materials (LEM3 – UMR CNRS 7239). He defended his PhD thesis on discrete-continuum coupling approaches in 2013 at Bordeaux University (France). After his PhD, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Laval University (Québec-Canada) on the modelling of machining and mechanical surface treatment of aluminium alloys. Then, he returned to France to join Arts et Metiers Institute of Technology for a second postdoctoral position on the multi-scale modelling of the complex mechanical behaviour of glasses, before assuming his current position at the same Institute since 2016.

As a member of the LEM3 laboratory, he is actively involved in the Laboratory research fields and develops his main activities on the modelling of size effects in miniaturized products using multi-scale approaches, such as strain gradient plasticity and discrete dislocation dynamics. In this context, he is the scientific coordinator of an ongoing research project funded by the French National Research Agency – (https://www.sgpgaps.fr).

In addition to his fundamental research activities, he develops applied activities on the reduction of complex numerical models based Artificial Intelligence. In relation with these activities, he coordinates an ongoing industrial project funded by ArcelorMittal Global R&D. He was/is involved in the supervision of 2 PhD and 7 MSc projects.
