Dr Marina Cano

Associate Professor at Volda University College

Dr Marina Cano is Associate Professor of English at Volda University College, Norway. She has also taught English Literature at the University of Limerick (Ireland), the University of St Andrews and Edinburgh Napier University (Scotland). She received her PhD in English from the University of St Andrews.

Marina works in the areas of British Literature, the long 19th century, women’s writing and gender theory. She has a particular interest in theatre and performance too and is the author of Jane Austen and Performance (Palgrave, 2017) and the co‐editor of Jane Austen and William Shakespeare: A Love Affair in Literature, Film and Performance (Palgrave 2019). More recently, she has become interested in the intersections between Covid-19 and gender and in theories of failure.
